For Gilly Bass, creativity has been both a personal and professional journey shaped by healing, transformation and expression.
Over the past several decades, her focus has centred on experiential contemporary mixed media work, informed by her background as a health practitioner and her experience fabricating orthotics from casts and moulds. This influence brings a tactile, intuitive quality to her practice.
Gilly’s artistic development has been shaped by time spent with creatives across New Zealand, Australia, the USA, Paris, Italy and the Greek Islands. These experiences have contributed to both her personal and creative evolution, informing her approach to exhibiting and her interest in transforming art into functional, meaningful pieces.
