Lucie is a Napier-based contemporary artist known for her refined, vibrant works created with alcohol inks. Originally from Belgium, she was immersed in creativity from an early age and later studied photography before discovering alcohol ink as her primary medium.
Her art is a balance between colour, motion, and light, both intuitive and deliberate. Working with alcohol inks, a fluid and unforgiving medium, each piece is shaped through air-driven movement. Layers cannot be erased or reworked, requiring precision, control and trust, by capturing a moment that exist only once.
Inspired by nature, her work reflects shifting landscapes, light on water, and earthy tones, often enhanced with metallic elements that create depth and subtle movement.
Lucie’s work has been recognised in exhibitions across New Zealand and internationally, including award recognition. She regularly participates in art shows across Aotearoa, continuing to build a strong presence within the contemporary art scene.
