Mark Haydock

Mark’s interest in the creative process developed at an early age. Coming from a line of capable creatives, his father and grandfather were painters and his aunt a stained-glass artist, he had plenty of inspiration and encouragement to draw and paint.

Emigrating to New Zealand in 1972 at the age of nine, Mark pursued his passion for drawing and painting with determination.

During his teen years, Mark trained for two years with artist Philip Markham and attended night classes with the Academy of Fine Arts. After completing a Bachelor Commerce at Otago University, Mark completed a Diploma in Graphic design at Kingston University London, leading to various London based in-house graphic – design positions. On his return to New Zealand, Mark re-engaged with his passion for art, and currently works as an artist on a wide range subject matter in oils, and pastels.
