After a long stint in the corporate world, Iwen decided to make a career switch in his late thirties. He is now a full time artist based in Greytown, Wairarapa.

His paintings are predominately of landscapes and rural/farming scenes. He describes his painting style as ‘painterly realism’, as the paintings are expressive and loose, but they also have a good sense of realism.

He is represented by galleries around New Zealand and he participates in a variety of exhibitions every year. He has won multiple awards and has been a finalist in many prestigious art competitions.
