Angela Maritz is a New Zealand-based international contemporary artist whose expressive, layered paintings explore emotion, memory and connection.

Born in South Africa, her intuitive practice is guided by colour, music and the rhythms of everyday life, each work unfolding through a balance of spontaneity and refinement.

Career highlights include a five-year commission for a leading Cape Town hotel, a contemporary art scholarship in Venice, selection as one of four artists across New Zealand and Australia for a leading car hire campaign and a collaboration with a New York fashion designer. Her work is held in private collections across New Zealand, Australia, the United States and Europe.
