Kirsty’s work brings together hand-printed landscapes and native bush etchings with patterned elements created from bamboo wood engravings. Through this layered approach, she creates narrative-driven works that reflect both the history and evolving journey of Aotearoa within a contemporary landscape.

Pattern plays an important storytelling role in her practice, drawing on traditions found across Pacific cultures. Her work often evokes the visual language of masi and tapa cloth, alongside influences from Māori toi whakairo, which together inform her distinctive style.
