Metal Metcalfe are two sisters, making colourful, playful artworks from repurposed materials; primarily 44-gallon drums from the food industry.
Their creative practice is built around play and experimentation, scale and humour. It seeks to start conversations or lines of enquiry around long held beliefs, structures, stereotypes and behaviours from a fresh and accessible perspective. Metal Metcalfe enjoy demonstrating through their practice and pieces, a playful nature, a feminine sensibility to an industrial material, and humorous absurdity to scale, colour and place.
